I interviewed Angela Cody-Rouget for Episode 22. Angela attended Indiana University, and upon graduation was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Air Force. Angela served for over 14 years on active duty and in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. She has an MBA from University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. Angela is the founder of Major Mom, which helps people live clutter-free and clean by clearing out their space and giving them a system that works for them.
Angela talks about the leadership and organizational skills she learned as an Air Force Officer and how she was able to turn them into a business. She discusses her decision to leave the Air Force and the challenges she faced with the launch of Major Mom. Angela has some great advice for any veteran thinking about starting their own business:
“Do everything you can to downsize your lifestyle now and save some money….Brace for some lean times so that you can be less stressed and just grow the business versus making decisions out of desperation”
