In Episode 19, I interviewed Zach Iscol. Zach is the Founder and CEO of HirePurpose, an online career and staffing company that matches military vet talent with civilian career opportunity. He is also the executive director of The Headstrong Project, a non-profit partnered with Weill Cornell Medical Center to fund and develop comprehensive mental healthcare programs to treat Iraq and Afghanistan veterans free of cost, stigma, and bureaucracy.
Zach graduated from Cornell University with a BA in Government. He served in Iraq on multiple occasions, and commanded a Combined Action Platoon imbedded with an Iraqi Company during the 2004 assault on Fallujah. Zach also served as the first officer in charge of Recruiting, Screening, Assessment, and Selection (RSAS) for the US Marine Corps – Special Operations Command. He has also written, directed, and produced a film titled “The Western Front” about his return to Iraq after he left the Marine Corps.
