Overview
Episode 26 is an interview with Carl Churchill. Carl is the Co-Founder of Lock-n-Load Java “Veteran Owned, No Compromise, Premium Coffee” that is based in Utah but ships all over the world.
Background
Carl started as a Private in the U.S. Army, and later won an ROTC Scholarship. He graduated from the University of Utah and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Carl spent over 21 years on Active Duty and in the Reserves serving in Central America, the Balkans, Korea, and many trips to the Middle East. He retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
From the Army to Entrepreneurship
In this interview, Carl talks about the many challenges he faces as an entrepreneur and how the skills he learned in the Army helped Lock-n-Load Java become a successful business. This is one of my favorite quotes from the interview:
I am not a gambler. I don’t like to gamble because I can’t control the outcome, but I am more than willing to bet on myself
