Dan Brillman, Air Force Pilot, CEO and Founder Unite US

I had the opportunity to interview Dan Brillman for Episode 20. Dan is the CEO and Founder of Unite US, a hyper-local community management platform that connects military veteran communities to peers, supporters, and all resources through interactive mapping technology. He is also a principle at venture capital firm Scout Ventures.

Dan is a graduate of Yale University and has an MBA from Columbia Business School. After graduation from Yale, he joined the Air Force Reserve and was trained as a KC-10 pilot, where he still serves today. The idea for Unite US came from a paper Dan wrote at Columbia Business School. It was passed off to Scout Ventures, and they brought Dan on board to develop the idea.

Dan and his team recently received $2M in Seed Funding to get Unite US off the ground. He has great advice for any veteran who wants to start a business,  “If you want advice or mentorship …don’t be hesitant to reach out”. You can see a video overview of Unite US here.
